Hi, I'm Dana!

The educator behind ELA the Efficient Way™ — and I'm so glad you're here.

A peaceful Florida beach — Dana's happy place
My happy place — the Florida coast

I'm a certified ELA teacher for grades 6–12 with 13 years of experience teaching in Florida. I've taught grades 6–10 in both public and private school settings, including reading intervention classes designed to support struggling readers.

My passion lies in making Language Arts accessible, efficient, and engaging for every learner. I believe in working smart, not hard — so I create classroom-tested resources that save time while boosting student success in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

When I'm not teaching or creating resources, I'm soaking up time with my family — my greatest joy. My happy place is the beach, especially when we're lucky enough to spot a dolphin playing in the waves. The ocean brings me peace and inspiration, just like those small moments of breakthrough in the classroom.

Thanks so much for visiting — I'm so glad you're here!

My Educational Journey

I didn't grow up dreaming of becoming a teacher, but I always knew I wanted to make a difference — especially for students who were struggling. As someone who faced personal and academic challenges, particularly in middle school, I understand how important it is to have a teacher who believes in you and sees your potential.

That's what inspired me to pursue a path in education. My own journey helps me connect with students on a deeper level and fuels my passion for creating resources that support all types of learners.

Awards & Shining Moments

While I've been honored to be nominated for Teacher of the Year by colleagues at two different schools and have served as a team lead, my most meaningful "awards" have always come from my students.

Watching students grow, gain confidence, and realize their own potential will always be the greatest reward in my teaching journey.
